May 3, 2013 - 8:40am
On May 1, 2013, our Department, in conjunction with the Pittsburgh American Chemical Society Education Group, hosted the 33rd Annual High School Chemistry Olympics. Over 300 students and their teachers from 27 high schools in the tri-state area competed against each other in a laboratory setting.
The students’ results were evaluated by local chemistry educators and prizes were awarded in three categories. Category I is for students who completed one year of chemistry; Category II is for students with two years of chemistry; and Category III is for students in organic chemistry. The students and teachers also enjoyed lunch and attended lectures given by our faculty. Congratulations to all the participants!
